AEMO Governance Review

ASL notes the publication of the AEMO Governance Review Final Report and the response by Energy Ministers.

The report recommends that ASL be established as a standalone entity under arrangements that support and encourage multi-jurisdictional membership, and Energy Ministers have agreed to that recommendation.

There is no immediate change to ASL's current responsibilities, functions or operations. ASL will continue to perform its existing statutory and contractual roles, including as the independent Consumer Trustee under the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, Scheme Administrator for the SA FERM and as tender delivery partner for the Capacity Investment Scheme.

Current delivery activities, including ongoing tenders and procurement processes, are unaffected and continue as planned.

We will work constructively with AEMO, our current members and government officials on next steps.

Our focus remains on delivering for governments and energy consumers in our current roles.
